Abstract

The fundamental extent of this work is to configuration, create a vertical axis wind  turbine for power generations applications in rural territories. Vertical Axis Wind Turbines were chosen to harness the energy from wind through the drag forces. It has a good starting  torque and independent of the wind direction .In this project the fabrication of prototype of Savonius type Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) is made using easily available materials like, plywood, sheet metal and bearing. This project is to design and fabricate a roof- mounted vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) system. Natural concerns have been a significant issue in the engineering field. Wind turbines are the type of renewable energy source that will support the earth. Our venture result will create a product that will have the option  to support nature and make society progressively self-manageable. This should be possible by making society progressively autonomous from utilizing fossil fuels. Our project is helping the succession of this idea and broadening the capability of turbine to reduce carbon footprints.
