Kazi Asif Kabir

Abstract

Lean is a technique which aims at mitigating waste within the production processes while optimizing production. The term waste, is something which does not add any value for the customers and for which they are not willing to pay. Lean was at first introduced by the renowned Japanese automotive company Toyota during 1930; at the time the company named its production model as “The Toyota Way”. Lean is comprised of five basic principles which are, precise definition of value by product, identification of the value stream for each and every product, fabrication of value flow without any interruptions, authorizing the customer to pull value from the manufacturer, and achieving perfection. In this study a mathematical model was fabricated to analyze the impact of natural and monetary execution for four diverse lean and green practices in four distinct industries (i.e. Food, Plastic, Automotive, and Yarn Industry). The model aided in the evaluation of four lean and green practices according to their utilization status. The purpose behind this modeling and analysis was to inspect the environmental and economic sustainability conservation by the four designated industries
