Condition Monitoring System with Multiple Sensors and Assessment of the Three-Axis Milling Machine's Thermal Behavior
Abstract
This research investigates the status of sensor technology and its application in the 3 Axis Milling Machine process, particularly in monitoring machining signals for Tool Condition Monitoring (TCM) systems. Signals such as cutting force, torque, vibration, acoustic emission, current/power, sound, and temperature are discussed with the aim of identifying characteristics relevant to TCM. Sensors for measuring machining signals, including both commercial and research equipment, are examined. The paper explores current trends in sensor systems and the potential for future research.
