Wheel Hub Analysis for Sustainability and Weight Optimization

Abstract


This study employs various techniques, referencing data from previously published research and reviewer feedback, to optimize the design of a wheel hub using different materials. This research is beneficial for designers aiming to select the ideal material and reduce the weight of wheel hubs for optimal structural design. The weight reduction of the wheel hub is achieved through Finite Element Analysis (FEA). A model of the hub is created with accurate proportions and analyzed using different materials and FEA techniques. The best material is chosen based on these optimizations, aiming to create wheel hubs that are lighter and more cost-effective. The optimization process uses Catia v5 R19 for modeling and Ansys Workbench 16 for FEA analysis, resulting in reduced weight for the wheel hub.
