Abstract

Infection with hepatitis B is a major global health issue. Hepatitis B is often spread through bodily fluids like blood, semen, and vaginal secretions, and it can cause damage to the liver. After infection with the hepatitis B virus, the majority of adults are able to clear the infection. Patients can present along with acute symptomatic disease or have an asymptomatic disease that is recognized particularly during screening for the hepatitis B virus. This article explains regarding recognition who is at risk of hepatitis B, and clinical evaluation and management of patients along with hepatitis B by an interdisciplinary team. It also focuses on preventive measures.
