Endosulfan: A Threatening Pesticide for Environment and Health

Abstract


Endosulfan, an organochlorine pesticide, is a broad range contact insecticide extensively used in pest control. It is used in a extensive range of crops including cereals, coffee, cotton, fruit, oil seeds, potato, tea and vegetables. There is a worldwide concern over the acute toxicity of endosulfan. This article will make us understand the accurate meaning of Endosulfan (insecticide) and also why it is harmful for the health of human beings. It has been discussed about the ban on the Endosulfan and Why Indian citizens are opposing this prohibition, alternative of the Endosulfan and also the harmful effects on various living creatures.
