The area first started to develop during the Mughal period and later grew during the Colonial era, the signs of which are still intact in the many old buildings along this roadbut these tangible makers of our valued past are under threat because of unplanned urbanization. Now, there is an extreme need to identify these historic buildingsbefore losing its originaloutstanding features.
