Comparing Gadgil and Kasturirangan Report with Landslide at Puthumala, Wayanad

Abstract


The research will be based on understanding the importance of the Gadgil and Kasturirangan report which was not accepted by the peoples and government which finally lead to a disaster. Most of the part of Puthumala was completely washed off by the landslide. This report helps to understand what all measures would have taken from Gadgil report which would have reduced the impact of landslide and what all human activities lead the disaster vulgar. The present study helps us to understand the causes of the landslide. And the reason for a landslide that is much more similar to the report of Gadgil and Kasturirangan report and the measures that are needed to be taken to prevent the study.
