Objectives, Symptoms, Mechanism of Action, Administration, Adverse Effects, Contraindications, Monitoring, Toxicity and Enhancing Health Care Team Outcomes of An Immuno Suppressive Drug Such as Cyclosporine
Abstract
An immunosuppressive medication called cyclosporine is useful in treating organ rejection following transplantation. Additionally, it shows promise in treating organ rejection in kidney, liver, and heart allogeneic transplants, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune illnesses where methotrexate has not been effective enough. Also, it is a second-line agent for ALS and graft vs host disease. Other FDA-approved and non-FDA-approved indications are also present. For interprofessional team members treating illnesses where cyclosporine is recommended, this activity explains the drug's mechanism of action, adverse event profile, toxicity, dosage, pharmacodynamics, and monitoring.
