Abstract

Pleural and extra pleural diseases encompass a wide range of conditions  impacting  the tissues surrounding  the lungs.  These diseases can be debilitating and often need  medical intervention. Pleural diseases include Pleural effusion, Pneumothorax, Pleural infections and Pleural thickening. Examples for Extra_ Pleural Diseases are meso thelioma, asbestos, empyema  and pleural plaques. Finally it is concluded that drugs play an important role in the management  of Pleural and extra_ Pleural diseases,  ranging from reducing fluid accumulation  and inflammation  to targeting cancer cells and managing symptoms.
