Significant Role of Green Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Drugs

Vandana S. Madke

Abstract

Green chemistry conveys an area of research developing from scientific innovations about pollution awareness and it make uses of a set of principles that eliminates the use of harmful substances in all steps of particular synthesis or process. Scientists can significantly reduce the risk to human health and the environment by following all the important principles of green chemistry. The simplest and direct way to apply green chemistry in pharmaceuticals is to utilize eco-friendly, non-hazardous, reproducible and capable solvents and catalysts in synthesis of drug molecules, drug intermediates and in researches involving synthetic chemistry. Microwave synthesis is also an essential tool of green chemistry by being an energy efficient process.
