A Mobile-Based Platform to Facilitate Direct Market Access for Farmers
Abstract
Agriculture remains the backbone of the Indian economy, yet farmers often struggle with market access due to intermediaries and lack of price transparency. This paper presents a Mobile App for Direct Market Access for Farmers, designed to connect farmers directly with buyers, eliminating middlemen and ensuring fair pricing. The application is built using Firebase Database, Android, and Java, integrating features like real-time price updates, secure transactions, and logistics support. The system leverages digital technology to streamline the agricultural supply chain, improve market accessibility, and enhance farmers' profitability. By providing a user-friendly platform for direct trade, the app empowers farmers to make informed decisions and expand their market reach. This paper discusses the system’s design, implementation, and potential impact on the agricultural sector. The study highlights the role of technology in transforming traditional agricultural practices and fostering a more sustainable and profitable farming ecosystem.
