Composites Materials an Overview

SAGAR K G

Abstract

Composites are composed from two or more materials having different characteristics are combined to form a new material with enhanced properties. One material serves as a binder or matrix, while the other provides reinforcement and thus enhanced properties like strength or stiffness. The resulting composite exhibits remarkable properties, such as a high strength-to-weight ratio, increased durability, and resistance to heat, chemicals, and external forces. The aerospace, automotive, construction, and marine industries are just some of the many that make use of them. Popular reinforcement types include metal matrix composites, polymers reinforced with carbon or glass fibres, and polymers reinforced with aramid or nitride. This paper includes an over view of composites materials, production, and other information.
