Modelling of an Airplane Flywheel
Abstract
A flywheel can be characterized as a gadget which stores energy as Kinetic Energy. The essential capacity of Flywheel is to deal with the force change by smoothening out the varieties in speed. A flywheel is additionally used to keep up with the energy at a steady worth that is expected by giving energy when it diminishes and putting away energy when it increments. There are many causes which can prompt disappointment of a flywheel, one of them is the typical and the complete anxieties created because of rotational speed in a flywheel. Henceforth, this work assesses the Normal and the Total Stresses alongside Total Deformation created in a H22 which was Honda's bigger elite exhibition motor's flywheel because of rotational speed for two distinct materials, i.e., Gray Cast Iron and 6061 Aluminum Alloy. After the FEA, the better of the two materials is chosen. The demonstrating programming utilized in SOLIDWORKS and the product utilized for FEA of the Flywheel is ANSYS.
