Advanced Tricycle Design and Analysis for the Operations of Rural Commodities

Abstract


Transportation is a significant challenge in rural areas. Due to economic constraints, heavy vehicles like trucks and vans are not used for short-distance transportation, and daily-wage workers often cannot afford these vehicles. This research proposes a solution to this problem by designing a freight tricycle with a well-arranged trolley for transporting goods. The conceptual design is based on a manually operated tricycle, with modifications to the chassis and trolley to reduce human effort and facilitate easy manufacturing. The tricycle design is suitable for both male and female operators, ensuring ease of use. A thorough design and analysis of the tricycle are conducted using Siemens NX 10 Software and ANSYS Workbench for structural analysis.
