Abstract

Infections affecting the bloodstream in infants younger than 28 days are linked to neonatal sepsis. Infant mortality and morbidity are still primarily caused by it, especially in middle- and lower-income nations. The age at which it manifests after birth determines whether it is classified as early-onset sepsis (EOS) or late-onset sepsis (LOS), with varying experts using 72 hours or 7 days as the cutoff. The diagnosis and treatment of neonatal sepsis are covered in this activity, along with the function of the interprofessional team in managing patients with this illness.
