Eco Friendly Go Cart Hybrid Vehicle Using Solar Power

Nitin Waghmare

Abstract

This paper addresses the fabrication of the vehicle with the linear velocity of 40Km/hr which runs entirely on a solar system. This vehicle is a prototype of box shaped car with the load carrying capacity of 200kg.The car runs on a BLDC motor connected via Lead-Acid batteries of 35 Amp/hr and 48 Volts producing no harm to the environment much like conventional fuel cars. The solar cars depend on PV cells to convert sunlight into electricity. PV cells are made up of semiconducting materials like silicon and alloys of indium, gallium and nitrogen. Silicon is the most common material used and has an efficiency rate of 15-20%.
