P S Shangesh, T Kamatchi, G. Aswin

Abstract

The firecrackers have been a ritual in Indian tradition. Crackers are most popular thing during celebrations in the world. People around the world are using crackers for many purposes almost in all the functions. Walas like 100,1000,2000,5000, 10000 crackers are winded manually using their hands. Winding manually is not an easy process and it is a long-time process and possibility of forearm knee problem and even it leads to aching. It causes many side effects to the manual winder. Already there exists an electrically operated knotter which was imported from China to India. This costs around 8 lakhs, exclusive of importing cost 1.5 lakhs. It is massive in size and needs electrical source for operation. Considering these difficulties, we have designed and fabricated a “SEMI – AUTOMATED BIJILI KNITTER”. Our fabricated knitter is semi-automatic and we have used BEVEL GEAR MECHANISM. It is 90% cheaper than electrically operated knitter. Foremost objective of this fabrication is to knot the cracker through this semi-automated device.
