A Cost Effective Generation of Digital Modulation Techniques(ASK, FSK & PSK) Using LF 398 IC

Abstract


Since past few decades almost every digital communication application employs digital modulation techniques. Amplitude shift keying (ASK), Frequency shift keying (FSK) & Phase shift keying (PSK) are most popular digital modulation techniques for transmission of digital data over optical fiber, over voice lines, in high-frequency radio transmission and for higher frequency LANs that use coaxial transmission lines. For generation of these digital shifts keying techniques various costly, heavy-weighted and tedious circuits and devices have been discovered and are available. This paper presents a very low cost (economic), very light-weighted and very simple circuits using a single LF 398 IC and a single resistor for generation of ASK, FSK & PSK modulation. Tested hardware circuits and their resultant observed waveforms have been included that justify behavior of the hardware circuitry.
