Abstract

Nowadays there is need of alternate energy sources due to the paucity of non-renewable energy sources. Because of which they're moving towards renewable energy sources. This paper presents the efficient use of solar power by operating Photovoltaic (PV) panels at the utmost point (MPP) for powering a induction motor drive. The proposed system implemented the appliance to offer power from solar power to induction motor drive by converting the DC electrical power generated from a PV panel to AC power using the resonant inverter. When the switches are turned on and off, a standard inverter generates switching loss due to the hard switching. Thus, the inverter loss is increased. Proposed system contains auxiliary circuit. The converter stage switches perform soft switching due to the resonant circuit. Hence, the system reduces switching loss and voltage stress.
