The Role of Battery Recycling in the Electric Vehicle Lifecycle
Abstract
The global shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) is an important step in addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions from the transportation sector. While EVs are often seen as an environmentally friendly alternative to internal combustion engine vehicles, the impact of their battery production, usage, and disposal must also be considered in their full lifecycle. This paper explores the role of battery recycling in the lifecycle of EVs, focusing on its environmental, economic, and technological implications. It also addresses the current state of battery recycling practices, challenges, and innovations in the field. By promoting more sustainable recycling solutions, the EV industry can reduce its overall environmental footprint and create a more sustainable and circular economy.
