EduSphere: Manage Every School, From One Cloud

Tejas Chavan, Anushree Ashtul

Abstract

EduSphere is a web-based, multi-tenant school management platform built on a scalable SaaS architecture, designed to serve multiple schools through a single, unified application. Supporting modular features such as student information systems, attendance tracking, timetable management, fee processing, and internal communication, EduSphere enables each school to operate within its own secure, isolated environment. The platform is developed using a microservices-based backend (Node.js/Express), a modern frontend stack (React with TailwindCSS), and a hybrid database model using PostgreSQL with tenant-aware schema strategies. Secure access is enforced through JWT-based authentication and role-based authorization across all modules. Unique features include dynamic school onboarding, tenant-specific themes, real-time notifications, and audit logging. Critical challenges such as tenant isolation, concurrent session handling, and configuration customization were addressed using middleware-based access filtering and schema-based data separation. Deployed on a containerized cloud infrastructure with CI/CD support, EduSphere provides a robust, maintainable, and cost-effective solution for digitalizing school operations at scale. Future enhancements will include AI-powered analytics, multilingual support, and mobile-first deployment for rural and remote institutions.
