A Priority based Resource Provisioning by Dynamically Balancing Load using VM Dynamic Threshold and Novel Method: Review

Vinay Khatod

Abstract

In recent years, the demand from organizations as well as individuals for Cloud (Virtual) Resources reached a peak due to their advantages such as resources available at cheaper rates, maintenance free infrastructure, applications with latest updates, anytime and anywhere availability of resources, etc. As with every technology there are cons of using Cloud Resources including increased energy consumption, infrastructure location is not transparent, security for the data stored on cloud. In this paper, method to efficiently allocate resources to consumer based on Priority has been proposed by combining load balancing approach to reduce energy consumption. Not only resource will be allocated by altering the load between Physical Machines (PMs), but also a Priority based resource provisioning criteria will be implemented. The evaluation criteria will be user satisfaction, service quality, number of migrations, least Service Level Agreement (SLA) violation and energy saving.
