Maritime Border Alert System for Fisherman and Weather Monitoring

C. Rajmohan

Abstract

The main idea of this paper is to safeguard the fishermen by being caught by the Sri Lankan Navy. The main reason behind this problem is border between two countries are not easily identifiable. Frequent incidents of fishermen from Tamil Nadu getting shot in the Sri Lankan’s maritime boundary have enraged all citizen of the state. An RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology which uses one or more readers and number of tags and a backend database. The object of a boat/ship is identified physically and the information about the owning person of a boat and the persons who are in the boat/ship also contained in the RFID tags. This RFID tags are tuned for a particular frequency and has a different unique ID numbers. GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) are used for notifying the border crossing. The region is divided into safe zone and warning zone. The total number of boats crossing the safe zone can be monitored by the Indian Navy with the aid of RFID technology. The boat moves backwards automatically if the boat crosses the warning zone. The weather can be monitored continuously using DHT11 sensor. The total number of boats crossing the warning zone can be identified using RFID technology and can be intimated to Indian Navy using IOT module.
