Abstract

The rising trend of home automation has garnered immense popularity owing to its numerous advantages. This innovative approach involves linking household electrical appliances to the internet or cloud storage, enabling users to control and manage them remotely. Recently, the demand for network-enabled home automation has soared due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Cloud computing platforms play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless connectivity to various smart devices, allowing users to access and control their surroundings effortlessly through personalized portals. Essentially, clouds serve as a user-friendly gateway to interact with the Internet of Things (IoT). In this project, we propose an IoT-based home automation system aimed at empowering users with comprehensive control over all remotely accessible aspects of their home. The wireless or cloud-based approach employed in our system ensures utmost convenience and accessibility at any time and from any location. Given the rise in the use of software, hardware is also developing at a rapid pace. IoT which is in great demand has become a core for all the automation happening in the home and personalization space. Keeping that in mind our goal was to build a sustainable system

capable of automating various tasks which we encounter in our day i.e. controlling lights, fans, television sets and much more. We have researched and gone through various types of sensors and devices and then selected the most apt for our project. We also have developed a software- application architecture which has allowed us an easy integration with our devices. All of this makes our system a whole smooth functioning unit and allows us to scale our project without imposing any constraints. Our project is intuitive and comparatively easy to use as it significantly reduces the time and effort required to manage the household tasks and even has the potential to reduce energy consumption. With the right amount of time and effort we can build a better prototype which can be directly installed replacing the boring switchboard in our houses and saving some extra bucks on that electricity bill every month. We have developed a custom android application using flutter which controls all the devices on finger tips. Our application is easy to use and understand for all age groups. The app has support for voice control where in each device can be controlled using voice. It is user friendly, easy to install directly from our website.
