Intelligent Blind Stick

Archit Mallesha

Abstract

Since 84% of the information a person receives from their environment is through sight, vision is the most crucial component of human physiology. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 275 billion people worldwide suffer from visual impairment, of which 246 have low vision and 39 are blind. At the moment, people who are blind use a white stick to help them move or walk. In this work, we create a tool that is more effective and useful than the standard one and can be used as a blind stick. This will provide blind individuals with assistance during the walk and an alarm if any obstacle is detected within the specified range.
