Indoor Positioning System

Abstract


Nowadays as people spend a lot of time in the indoor place; it is crucial for users and service providers to get exact indoor positioning information. For this many location-based technique are being generated and used in various departments like map services, traffic navigation, etc. This can be achieved by many technologies which can be used to get indoor position/location. These technologies include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), etc. There is no standard present for Indoor positioning system. Also because of characteristic of security, data and privacy problems become issue. This paper covers various IPS techniques and each IPS techniques is analyzed in terms of accuracy, cost, etc.
