Green Hydrogen Production Using Renewable Energy: Technologies, Challenges and Future Prospects
Abstract
The search for clean and sustainable energy has become very important over the last few years[2]. There are several industries where the use of hydrogen as a clean source of energy is possible[10]. Green hydrogen is one of the very important sources of clean energy. Green hydrogen is a source of clean energy, and it uses clean energy, i.e., wind and solar power[3]. The energy of the sun is used to split the water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen in the green hydrogen[3]. This process of producing hydrogen does not produce greenhouse gases[1].
The paper is centered on the major technologies used in the production of green hydrogen. Alkaline water electrolysis, proton exchange membrane, and solid oxide electrolysis are the technologies used[3]. In addition, the paper is centered on the use of renewable energy in the production of hydrogen. This would ensure the production of sustainable energy[5]. There are many challenges that are associated with the production of green hydrogen[7]. Green hydrogen is the future source of energy. It is going to assist us in reducing greenhouse gases[2].
