Abstract

The design, development, and testing of an IV bag monitoring system built on an Internet of Things (IoT) architecture are presented in this project report. To track and regulate IV bag flow rates in real time, the system uses an ESP8266 microcontroller, a flow sensor, and an integrated PHP-based dashboard. The system determines the flow rate and total volume injected during an IV session by counting the sensor's pulses using an interrupt service procedure. After that, real-time data is sent to a distant server for event tracking and monitoring. The general architecture, hardware components, software implementation including source code explanation, techniques used, system testing, and possible enhancements are all included in this paper.
