Abstract

The ecology is seriously threatened and challenged by the disposal of plastic trash, which leads to pollution and global warming. In addition to solving the aforementioned issue, adding plastic trash to bituminous concrete increases the mix's strength and properties. The potential of incorporating waste plastic into bituminous concrete has been explored by numerous researchers, who have discovered that the mix performs better. Researchers have also shown that when waste plastic is mixed with bituminous concrete, common pavement flaws including ruts, potholes, and corrugation are lessened. Study total weight of bitumen was considered as 800 grams and the shredded waste plastic were added in varying percentages (2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% & 12%) by weight of bitumen in hot bitumen. To further improve its qualities, sisal fibre is also added to the mixture at a rate of 0.3% by weight of bitumen. Various tests such as specific gravity test, penetration test, ductility test. This cutting-edge technology will also work well in India's hot, humid atmosphere. It is both cost-effective and environmentally beneficial. The use of plastic trash in road construction has been covered in this study, along with its advantages over conventional roads.
