Abstract

The swelling interest in electric vehicles (EVs) has highlighted the craving for supplementary flexible, efficient, and manageable energy storage solutions. A robust battery pack is essential for powering the driving motor of EVs, requiring an all-encompassing perception of key Parameters like battery power density, lifespan, electrochemical behavior, and temperature tolerance. Battery management systems (BMS Are indispensable to ensuring the Streamlined functioning of EVs and eco- friendly energy storage systems. This paper addresses various challenges, concerns, and solutions related to battery performance and management. It discusses the key functions of BMS, including voltage and current monitoring, charge/discharge estimation, protection, equalization, thermal regulation, and data collection/storage. The study further explores the Distinct varieties of cell balancing circuits, highlighting their components, control reliability, electric tension and Prevailing stresses, power loss, efficiency, size, cost, and their respective advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, we review the current challenges faced by BMS and Pinpoint key problems that demand further attention to optimize battery management for both EVs and renewable energy storage systems. The paper concludes with a discussion on future research directions and potential improvements in this field.
