SMART CAMPUS ASSISTANT – A VOICE & TEXT-BASED REAL-TIME CAMPUS QUERY RESOLUTION SYSTEM
Abstract
The Smart Campus Assistant is a voice and text-based interactive web platform developed for improving student access to campus information at MGIT. This system allows students to inquire about class timetables, faculty, exam schedules, announcements, and events using natural language queries. It integrates Flask (Python), SQLite, speech recognition APIs, and real-time query logging to facilitate instant and automated responses. A role-based admin dashboard supports uploading of documents and query resolution. The assistant eliminates delays caused by manual interventions,
streamlines academic communication, and enables prompt dissemination of information.
Unlike traditional systems which require students to visit notice boards or websites that aren't updated in real-time, this assistant delivers personalized responses instantly. The platform was built keeping in mind accessibility and simplicity, allowing even non-technical users to interact through a friendly interface and receive timely assistance.
