Abstract

A cyberattack on a news organization is not just an IT failure; it's also about human lives, public trust, and the democratic process. Fundamental human privacy concerns as present in every encrypted database and secure network have been detected, with journalists taking a physical and psychological risk to uncover the truth, while at-risk reporters put their livelihood on others and ordinary people rely on unrestricted information to make critical decisions. With the rise of technology and the increasing need for digital infrastructure, there has never been a greater need to implement effective cybersecurity measures. Due to the need for crucial data about users, electronic devices are restricted and given topmost importance. In order to protect the users' financial and personal security, we prioritize enhancing cyber safety and safeguarding their data. The vulnerability of digitally advancing societies, such as India, is evident in the fact that cyberattacks on basic services, hospitals, and payment systems disrupt everyday operations and undermine the public confidence needed for a modern nation. Our digital armour needs constant reinforcement through encryption and multi-factor authentication in an escalating arms race powered by artificial intelligence, but technology cannot prevent it. Ultimately, safeguarding our digital lives is a collective responsibility that necessitated strong government policies, secure corporate infrastructure, and the consistent practice of safe online habits by all individuals connected to the internet.
