Abstract

The Bus Pass Verification System Using RFID and Arduino Uno is an automated system developed to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and security of bus pass verification in public transportation. In conventional bus systems, conductors or authorized personnel manually inspect bus passes, which can be time-consuming, especially during peak hours. Manual verification may also result in human errors and make it difficult to identify expired, duplicate, or unauthorized passes. The proposed system addresses these problems by using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for quick and contactless passenger identification. In this system, each authorized passenger is provided with an RFID card or tag containing a unique identification number. An RFID reader installed in the bus detects the card when it is brought within its operating range. The RFID reader sends the card information to the Arduino Uno, which acts as the main control unit. The Arduino processes the received RFID data and compares it with the stored or predefined authorized pass information. Based on the verification result, the system determines whether the passenger has a valid bus pass.
