Design of Three Way Traffic Using Verilog HDL
Abstract
The topic of this paper focus to the design of traffic light system using the hardware language Verilog HDL. Traffic lightsare the road sign devices used to manage trafficin road. These are fixed on the road to control the flow of the traffic at the road to avoid accident. By displaying lights red, yellow and green. The traffic light system has traditionallydesigned with fixed time slot for each direction. This approach while often leads to not so efficient traffic management especially during non-peak hours or in an emergency condition . The purpose of my paper is to improve the traditional system using Verilog HDL. The system will be design for Three-way intersection road. where traffic from all Three directions needs to be managed efficiently. The design and simulation of this improved traffic system will be put out using Verilog HDL. This research paper will not only provide a practical application of digital circuit design and Verilog but also towards improving traffic management in our cities. It is step towards smart cities where resources are used optimal and infrastructure is designed to the needs of the citizens.
