Exploring the Potent Power of Ionophore Antibiotics: A Brief Report on Lasalocid, Monensin and Salinomycin
Abstract
Ionosphere has attracted attention in a significant manner in both veterinary and human medicine because of their remarkable biological activities. Lasalocid exhibits potent activity against Gram_ positive bacteria, especially in ruminants namely cattle, sheep and goats. Monensin is widely used in animal feed, especially in Poultry and cattle. To enhance growth and inhibit diseases caused by Gram_ positive bacteria and coccidia. Salinomycin shows its potent activity especially against Gram_ positive bacteria, including multidrug_ resistant strains such as methicillin_ resistant Staphylococcud aureus ( MRSA ). Finally it is concluded that Ionophore antibiotics, including lasalocid, monensin and salinimycin represent a diverse and potent arsenal of compounds with applications ranging from veterinary medicine to cancer therapy.
