Abstract

In today’s fast-paced digital environments, organizations require efficient, accessible systems to manage and respond to user inquiries. This project, titled AskIt – Chatbot AI Assistant, introduces an intelligent, web-based chatbot solution designed to address both internal and general queries within a college or corporate setup. AskIt integrates a hybrid approach by combining a custom database for organization-specific information with external AI services such as Gemini 2.5 Flash, Groq AI, and Google Search to handle broader questions. The chatbot interface, developed using React, offers users a simple and interactive platform to ask questions and receive real-time answers. The backend system, containerized using Docker, enables seamless deployment across different environments, while the integrated database ensures accurate retrieval of structured organizational data. A core feature of AskIt is its ability to intelligently classify queries and route them to the appropriate data source—either the internal database or external AI APIs—ensuring relevant and context-aware responses. This dual-response mechanism enhances both usability and reliability. Overall, AskIt demonstrates a practical implementation of AI-powered automation in organizational communication, with potential for expansion into more personalized and scalable virtual assistant systems.
