REVIEW ON USE OF RECYCLED CONCRETE AGGREGATE IN CONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE ROAD

Pooja Gupta, Abhishek Tripathi, Miss Khushboo Tiwari

Abstract

The use of recycled aggregates in concrete significantly aids environmental protection and resource conservation. Many countries are increasingly adopting these materials, supported by relaxed regulations. This paper compares the properties of recycled fine and coarse aggregates with natural aggregates and evaluates their effects on concrete performance, including compressive and flexural strength and work ability. It also outlines guidelines from various countries and discusses the current status and future potential of recycled aggregates in India, highlighting their promise for sustainable construction.

Around the world flexible pavement is the most favored pavement structure to build road and highways. This pavement system's construction and upkeep require a significant amount of industrial items and non-renewable resources, including bitumen, cement, aggregates, lime, and other additives.
