RFID and GSM Based Smart Attendance System for Education Institutions
Abstract
In addition to being insecure and prone to human mistake, the traditional manual attendance method is also quite time-consuming. Due to the inefficiency of manually tallying attendance records, this method is not fit for purpose. In order to circumvent this problem, we have instituted a relational database system to store the students' real-time data. We used radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and readers to track student attendance in this research. In order to process and display the data in accordance with the distinct RFID tags, which can be easily and quickly scanned using an RFID reader. Radio frequency identification is a method of automated, wireless identification. An RFID reader, as well as active and passive RFID cards, power this system. In this article, we've looked at ways to use RFID technology to avoid manually collecting attendance. In a systematic, efficient, and time-saving manner, this technique aids the authorities in keeping track of the kids' attendance. A prototype system that uses RFID tags and a reader to calculate attendance has been implemented, proving that this particular approach is more effective than the traditional way. Candidates, businesses, and universities may all benefit from the system's portability, low price point, and user-friendly design.
