Comparative Analysis of SC-FDMA and OFDMA Systems

Abstract


This research presents a comparative analysis of SC-FDMA and OFDMA systems, focusing on their performance in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Using MATLAB simulations, both systems were evaluated under identical conditions, including modulation schemes and channel models. Results indicate that while OFDMA provides better spectral efficiency, SC-FDMA demonstrates a significant advantage in PAPR reduction, making it more suitable for uplink communications in LTE. This study highlights the trade-offs between these two technologies, providing insights for optimizing their use in modern wireless communication networks.
