EMPLOYEE LEAVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract
Employee Leave Management System involves integrating multiple processes and systems to efficiently automate and manage employee data, leave requests, tracking, and approvals. In many organizations, staff members are eligible for various types of leave, granted according to institutional policies. The administrative department typically handles the management and approval of leave requests. Traditionally, many institutions use a manual method for this process, where employees submit leave requests to their department heads. The department heads then forward these requests to higher authorities for approval. This conventional approach is often time-consuming, error-prone, requires extensive paperwork, and is challenging to manage. Therefore, there is a need for an automated leave management system that is quicker, more accurate, reduces paperwork, and is easier to manage. This need led to the development of an automated Employee Leave Management System (ELMS). ELMS aims to automate and streamline the existing manual processes, reducing paperwork and enhancing ecord maintenance efficiency through computerized techniques. The system serves as an online platform accessible to the entire institution or specific departments, facilitating the workflow of leave applications and approvals. Key features of ELMS include email notifications, leave approval mechanisms, and report generation capabilities. This system not only simplifies leave management but also enhances transparency and accountability in the process. Faculty leave, integral to the functioning of educational institutions, is seamlessly integrated into ELMS, allowing staff to request leaves for legitimate reasons and obtain timely approval from authorities. By automating leave management, ELMS provides a smart and efficient way to track, approve, and manage leave requests for both faculties. It ensures that academic activities continue uninterrupted while accommodating genuine leave needs. ELMS are poised to revolutionize leave management, fostering a conducive environment for academic success and campus engagement. The system’s front end involves HTML, CSS & JavaScript and the back end involves MYSQL and PHP.
