Abstract

An inflammation of the cervix is called cervicitis. Symptoms of cervicitis can include irregular vaginal bleeding, uncomfortable intercourse, or abnormal vaginal discharge, however they are rarely seen. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are the top cause of cervicitis. Most of the time, antibiotics are effective in treating cervicitis. When you have cervicitis, your cervix turns red and you notice irritation.
