Community-Based Awareness Study on the Use of Cosmetic Products Based On Age and Gender
Abstract
Cosmetic products are widely used by people of different age groups and genders for personal hygiene, beautification, skincare, and enhancement of appearance. The increasing influence of social media, advertisements, fashion trends, and growing awareness regarding personal grooming has significantly increased the use of cosmetic products in modern society. However, improper selection and excessive use of cosmetics may lead to adverse effects such as skin irritation, allergies, acne, pigmentation, and other dermatological problems. Therefore, community awareness regarding the safe and appropriate use of cosmetic products is essential.
The present study aims to evaluate community-based awareness regarding the use of cosmetic products based on age and gender. The study focuses on understanding the patterns of cosmetic usage, frequency of use, preference for cosmetic products, awareness about ingredients, knowledge of side effects, and purchasing behavior among different demographic groups. Data may be collected using questionnaires and survey methods from male and female participants belonging to various age categories.
The study also assesses public knowledge regarding expiry dates, branded versus non-branded products, herbal cosmetics, and the importance of dermatological safety. Comparative analysis between different age groups and genders helps identify variations in cosmetic awareness and usage behavior. The findings of the study are expected to provide useful information regarding consumer awareness, cosmetic safety practices, and educational needs within the community. This study may contribute to promoting rational and safe cosmetic usage, improving public awareness about potential risks associated with cosmetics, and encouraging informed consumer choices for better skin health and overall well-being.
