Architect Role in Digital Tools

Prerna Kaushik

Abstract

We are currently in an era dominated by modern tools and techniques, from smartphones to supercomputers, highlighting technology's crucial role in our daily lives. Architecture is no exception; the use of computer tools in architectural design has become indispensable. While architects may employ computers minimally during the design process, digital tools significantly enhance the precision of drawings. From the initial site analysis, which utilizes advanced tools to gather and transform site data into both tangible and intangible design concepts, each architect’s approach remains individualistic. The creative process typically begins with visualization, which is translated into sketches and further developed into construction drawings using various software tools for increased efficiency and improved presentation. Coordination on-site can be challenging, but digital tools simplify the process and reduce errors.
