Abstract
A colon polyp is a little collection of cells that develops on the colon's lining. The majority of colon polyps are benign. However, certain colon polyps may eventually develop into colorectal cancer. If detected in its advanced stages, colorectal cancer can be fatal.
Adenomatous polyps, also known as adenomas, are the most prevalent kind of precancerous polyps. Adenomas are the polyps that most commonly develop into colorectal cancer, thus medical professionals advise removing them to prevent them from getting bigger or developing into cancer.
