Abstract

Water is an essential natural resource, and conserving it has become a worldwide imperative due to rising scarcity and overuse. This paper describes the design and development of an automatic tap water controlling system utilizing a floatless water level sensor. The main goal of the proposed system is to reduce water wastage and ensure efficient water management automatically, without human intervention. The system incorporates a floatless level controller (Model 61F), conductive electrodes for level detection, an electromagnetic relay, and a solenoid-operated valve to manage water flow. When the tank water level drops below the set lower limit, the controller energizes the relay, opening the solenoid valve to let water in. Upon reaching the maximum water level, the relay is turned off and the valve is closed automatically, stopping the flow. The implemented system delivers a cost-effective, reliable, and easy-to-install solution compared to conventional methods. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system provides autonomous operation and efficiently conserves water, making it suitable for homes and small industrial setups.
