Abstract

“Sponge City” it is a term that is currently used in China to refer to the urban design ofan area based on storm water management and restoration of ecological processes. Various problems such as urban flood inundation and water shortage occurred in China during the rapid urbanization in the last several decades. An urban water management program called Sponge City it put forward in China in 2014 in order to relieve the flood inundation and water shortage situation. “Sponge City” is managing storm water through increased infiltration, detention, storage, treatment, drainage. By implementing this concept, the impact of urban development of water-related problems and natural ecosystems is diminished. Generally, this scientometric analysis may help practitioners, policymakers, funders, editors, and researchers the current state of the field and serve as a future progress in the studies.
