Different Surveying Techniques for Solving Real World Problems

Neha Kishor Bankar, Amit Balaso Baravkar

Abstract

Out of many surveying techniques nowadays software’s analysis is become more common due to its easy accessibility and more accuracy. GIS is a cyclic process which begins and ends with real world. It consists of data input, database management spatial analysis, digital terrain model, image processing and then final mapping system / data input. In this seminar I have chosen the study of different toposheets of nearby area and preparing its contour map with the help of Q GIS software for defining its basin area and with the help of thiessens
polygon method applying the mean precipitation to the defined area of rain guage station. This will help to know the applications of Q GIS software to sort out real world problem and also helps to find out mean average precipitation of the selected area more accurately. It will also help to find out the application of thiessen’s polygon method and finding its accuracy comparative to the analytical method. The comparative study of GIS software’s can be done to select most efficient software to prepare thematical maps and many other applications.
