Leveraging CATIA for Complex Problem Solving in Mechanical Design
Abstract
In modern engineering, solving complex design problems requires advanced tools that integrate precision, efficiency, and multi-domain capabilities. CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application), developed by Dassault Systèmes, is one such powerful design and engineering software widely used in aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors. This paper investigates the application of CATIA in solving complex mechanical design problems through a case-based methodology. Several design challenges involving surface modeling, assembly constraints, and parametric optimization are addressed using CATIA’s integrated environment. The research highlights how CATIA supports iterative design, simulation, and analysis within a single platform, thereby reducing development time and improving product performance. Through this study, we aim to provide insights into the software’s capabilities for multidisciplinary collaboration, real-time problem solving, and design validation. The findings suggest that CATIA significantly enhances engineers’ ability to tackle complex geometries and design constraints, making it an indispensable tool for modern product development.
