

Non-contact Processing System for Electrical Appliances using Hand Gesture
Abstract
The emerging smart technologies have given rise to a new function called non-contact or touchless control. This paper aims to achieve the non-contact control of electrical appliances as fan, light, motor and air conditioner, by a user without touching any devices such as switches and/or buttons. To achieve this aim, we use a non-contact hand gesture processing system that is provided with two embedded kits and is operated according to a convex hull algorithm and mathematical procedures. The embedded kits provide signals corresponding to hand gestures of the user. The convex hull algorithm and mathematical procedures are provided to process images of the hand gestures to output corresponding symbols for the hand gestures. The proposed system is used to ON/OFF the electrical appliances according to the hand gestures of the user.
